Malteser Traybake

It's national chocolate week so I thought I'd share one of my favourite recipes - a chocolate malteser traybake that I love making. It is very quick and easy to make and doesn't actually require any baking!

I use Nigella's recipe which can be found here

Ingredients:

  • - 100 grams butter
  • - 200 grams milk chocolate
  • - 3 tablespoons golden syrup
  • - 225 grams digestive biscuits (finely crushed)
  • - 225 grams maltesers

Method:
  • 1. melt together the butter, chocolate and syrup then add the crushed biscuits and the Maltesers.

2. Mix together quickly then pour into a lined Swiss roll tin and chill until set

3. For a special occasion drizzle with some melted white chocolate.

Luke & Carley

Last week I received an email from one of our customers and had to share it with you. Luke bought a personalised mini love letter necklace from us a little while ago, for his girlfriend Carley. Then later on had an idea to purchase a second little love letter on its own that was etched with 'will you marry me?'. He then whisked her off to Amsterdam for the weekend as a surprise. He secretly changed over the love letter inside the locket when she wasn't looking and proposed to her on the bridge and captured this amazing photograph as she re-opened the locket and read the new message inside!
Luke then told me there was more to the story - "Then we got in a rick shaw to a cocktail bar where i had secretly organised her friends and family to be, i also flew in my parents and brother from Dubai. Then the tears really started to flow." I think these photos is fantastic and is also a wonderful story - she said yes! Congratulations to Luke & Carley on your engagement!

Update - Reclaimed Wood Cufflinks

Great news about my cufflink range - all our designs are now made from reclaimed British wood. The wood is reclaimed copper beech wood from Chartwell in Kent. It is from a tree that was in Sir Winston Churchill's family home estate and is over 200 years old. The wood has more slightly more grain to it and I really like that. This photo is from our latest photo shoot, featuring the bike cufflinks in sterling silver settings...

Above is a photograph of where the copper beech tree used to be and below is the provenance certificate from the National Trust, which includes a photo of the very tree that the cufflinks are made from! If you would like us to include a small version of the provenance with your cufflink order please just let us know.
